Program Highlights

  • Preschool for All (PfA) is a pilot project providing high-quality, voluntary, free preschool for 4-year-old children living in the Hueneme School District
  • The PfA project in Hueneme is one of nine universal pre-kindergarten pilot projects in California
  • By 2011, 70% of pre-kindergarten children in the Hueneme Pilot Project will have access to preschool
  • PfA has a diverse provider base; parents can choose between public and private child care centers and family child care homes

  • Financial supports to assist the site with achieving PfA quality
  • On-site support to teachers to help bridge theory and practice
  • Support in achieving National association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC) accreditation
